Can root rot spread through nutrient solutions in hydroponics?

I've been experimenting with a small indoor hydroponic garden in my Dubai apartment, and I recently lost a few plants to what I suspect was root rot. My question is about the potential for root rot to spread through my nutrient solutions. After losing a couple of plants, I took precautions to clean my system, but I'm worried that my nutrient reservoir might still harbor pathogens. I’ve also swapped out a few plants with new ones, and I want to ensure that I’m not inviting trouble again. Can root rot pathogens survive in the nutrient solution for extended periods? What measures can I take to sanitize effectively without harming my new plants? Any insights would be incredibly helpful!
