How can I effectively propagate begonias from cuttings?

I’m excited about propagation and have been looking to expand my collection of begonias! I’ve read that they can be propagated from stem cuttings, but I’m unclear about the best practices to ensure success. My indoor setup allows for some experimentation, but I tend to overwater my cuttings, leading to rot more often than not. I’ve tried placing cuttings in water and directly into soil, but results have been inconsistent. What methods do you recommend for propagating begonias from cuttings, including timing, medium, and care? Any success stories or tips on what to avoid would be incredibly helpful as I dive into this new endeavor!
