When is the best time to deadhead calendula and how to do it?

I've integrated calendula into my garden design to provide both beauty and ecological benefits, but I'm unsure about the timing and technique for deadheading. My experience with other plants suggests that regular deadheading can promote blooming, but I want to ensure I'm doing it correctly. I've been deadheading sporadically, but I'm not seeing as many new blooms as I'd expected. Can anyone share the best practices for deadheading calendula? How often should I do it, and what signs should I look for to determine when a flower is ready to be removed? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
