How can I ensure optimal drainage for my balcony container plants?
I've noticed that some of my plants seem to be struggling with water retention issues in their containers, leading to root rot. I live in a high-rise apartment, and my balcony setup consists of various pots with differing drainage capabilities. I've tried adding gravel to the bottom of the pots but am curious if there are specific container types or potting techniques that can improve drainage. Given my interest in growing heirloom vegetables, what steps can I take to ensure that my containers allow for adequate drainage while also retaining some moisture? I would greatly appreciate any insights or techniques to enhance drainage in my balcony garden!
