Do ergonomic trowels really make a difference for older gardeners?

I’ve been gardening for decades, but as a retired teacher, I’m starting to notice that my hands aren’t as strong as they used to be. I’ve been hearing a lot about ergonomic trowels, and I’m curious if they really make a difference, especially for someone like me who has planted a diverse array of flowers and vegetables over the years. Are there specific ergonomic designs that you would recommend? I want something that’s easy on the hands but still effective for digging and transferring soil. I’d love to hear about your experiences! 🌷
