Balancing Biodiversity in a Small Orchid Garden

I'm currently working on a small section of my garden dedicated to rare orchids, and I've recently ventured into the principles of permaculture. I've been fascinated by the concept of biodiversity and its advantages, but I'm unsure how to effectively incorporate companion plants that won’t compete with my precious orchids. My garden is situated in a subtropical climate in Florida, allowing for a wide variety of plant species. I've tried introducing a few native wildflowers, but they don't seem to thrive as I hoped. Can anyone advise on suitable companion plants that could enhance biodiversity without overshadowing or competing with my orchids? What strategies can I adopt to ensure these plants coexist harmoniously? I'm really eager to optimize this space while maintaining my orchid collection!
