How to maintain moisture levels in raised garden beds during hot summers?

As summer approaches in my garden, I've noticed that my raised garden beds can dry out quickly, especially with the hot and humid climate here in Nagoya. I’m passionate about keeping my plants well-hydrated without over-watering, but striking the right balance seems tricky. I’ve tried mulch, which helps somewhat, but I'm unsure if there are more effective methods or materials. Additionally, I’m exploring the idea of installing a drip irrigation system, but I haven’t done that before. Does anyone have tips or methods that have worked well for maintaining moisture levels in their raised beds during the blazing summer months? Your advice would mean a lot to me!
