How do I get my compost tumbler to heat up faster?
I'm pretty new to gardening and recently got a compost tumbler for my little vegetable patch. I live in a sunny area, which is great, but I’ve noticed that my compost doesn’t seem to be heating up like I thought it would! I’ve been adding a mix of kitchen scraps and yard waste, but it feels like it’s taking forever to break down. My garden is just starting out, and I’m really eager to turn my scraps into soil for my veggies! I’ve heard that the tumbler should get warm if I'm doing things right, but I’m starting to wonder if I might be missing something. Should I be turning it more often, or perhaps I'm not balancing my materials correctly? Can anyone help with tips on how to speed up the heating process? I really want to start using my compost soon! 🌱
