What adjustments can I make to cactus mix soil for high humidity environments?

I'm currently working on a landscape project in Miami that features a diverse collection of tropical and desert plants, including several cacti. I've noticed that during the rainy season, my plants seem to struggle despite using a commercial cactus mix soil. The high humidity levels in my garden pose a unique challenge, as I want to ensure good drainage while also considering moisture retention for my cacti. I've tried incorporating perlite and sand to boost drainage but still feel unsure if I'm doing enough. Can anyone provide specific adjustments or amendments that can help optimize cactus mix soil for a humid environment like mine? I want to make sure my cacti thrive while balancing their need for dry conditions. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
