What’s the best way to compost during the winter months?

Hi fellow gardeners! As the chilly weather sets in here in Virginia, I’m starting to wonder how I can keep my compost bin active during the winter. ❄️ I've read that composting can slow down significantly in the cold, but I really want to keep my compost consistent even when temperatures drop. I’ve tried insulating my compost bin with straw bales, and I make sure to keep adding kitchen scraps, but I worry that it’s not breaking down as it should. Plus, I’d really love to hear about any specific winter composting techniques that could help keep things cooking! Has anyone had success with maintaining their compost during the winter? What strategies do you use to ensure your compost is still functional and adding value to your garden come spring?
