How can I balance the greens and browns in my compost bin effectively?

I'm currently managing a compost bin in my backyard garden in Accra, Ghana, and I've been noting that my compost isn't heating up as I’d expect. I've been adding kitchen scraps (the greens) like vegetable peels and lawn clippings, but I'm unsure about the right amount of browns, like dried leaves or shredded paper. My garden setup includes native flowers and a few edible plants, and I want to ensure my compost contributes positively to their health. I've tried adding more browns, but I'm still not seeing much progress in the decomposition. Can anyone help me figure out the optimal ratio and any tips on adjusting what I’m currently using?
