How do I maintain soil aeration in cactus pots long-term?
My gardening experience has taught me the importance of good soil aeration, especially for cacti. I’ve successfully grown several varieties in pots, but I find that as time goes on, the soil seems to compact, reducing aeration. I’ve tried mixing in perlite and pumice, but I’m not sure how to maintain that texture long-term. What practices or ingredients can I use to prevent compaction and keep the soil airy? It’s crucial for my cacti's health, and any tips would help me greatly in this situation.
