How can I best support my basil's growth during the hot summer months?

I'm living in a rather hot climate, and my basil plants seem to struggle a bit as the temperatures soar. I've been experimenting with different mulch types, hoping to retain moisture, but I feel like they could really use some extra care during these harsh days. My garden setup isn't too large—just a few raised beds where I grow my heirloom tomatoes alongside my basil. I love the aromatic variety of sweet basil, but I've noticed that the leaves can start to curl and turn a bit brown when it gets too hot. I've tried watering more frequently, yet I don't want to overdo it. Can anyone help with tips on how to keep my basil thriving when the heat is on? 🌞
