How do I incorporate native plants into my raised vegetable beds?

I'm Kofi Mensah, a retired botanist passionate about integrating native plants into my gardening projects. My current setup consists of several raised vegetable beds in my backyard in a temperate climate. I've been experimenting with various combinations of edible plants and native flowers to create a harmonious ecosystem. Recently, I planted some heirloom tomatoes alongside a few indigenous flowering plants, but I'm wondering if there are better strategies to enhance biodiversity and support local pollinators. My goal is to not only produce vegetables but also to create a thriving habitat for beneficial insects. I've read about companion planting but I'm uncertain which native plants might pair well with my chosen vegetables. Can anyone provide insights or examples of successful pairings? I'm particularly interested in how these native plants can benefit the growth of my vegetables without competing for resources. Any advice or experiences shared would be greatly appreciated! 🌼🌱
